Orca Scene
Greg conceptualised, story-boarded and previs developed
the complex Killer whale orca action sequence for the
Warner Bros / Kennedy Miller Mitchel Film “Happy Feet”.
He based the action concepts on examples of authentic
orca behaviour.
Crowd
Greg also orchestrated the crowd positions of thousands
of penguins for hundreds of drama and dance shots in
HappyFeet.
Killers in Eden
This is a small selection of the 22 shots Greg produced and
animated for the ABC documentary “Killers in Eden”
The whales were all modelled , textured and animated by
Greg and rigged and composited by Al Ferguson and Mark
Kennedy. The above water leap was animated by Greg and
composited by Dean Ervick and Al Ferguson.
These animations were Greg’s first ever attempt at 3D
computer animation for a television or film production. Click

Echidna Airways
Greg developed some of these images in 1999 for a proposed 3D children’s animation series based on his Kid’s Book “Echidna Airways: the great Wungle Bungle Aerial Expedition”. It has
not yet been shown to a network .
Software and technology have moved on considerably since then and Greg is
updating this project which has highly relevant environmental conservation
themes and rip roaring action!
Saved by Dolphins
Recent work includes building, animating and compositing great white and mako
sharks and bottlenose dolphins for the Bigwave/BBC documentary “Saved by dolphins”.
Greg and Al produced over 35 photorealistic HD CGI shots for the show, mixing real and live dophins in the same frame, all
for a shoestring budget.
Greg modelled, textured and animated all the sharks and dolphins. Compositing by
Greg and Al Ferguson. Al set up the character rigging for the sharks and
dolphins.
Turtle : the incredible journey
Greg and Alister recently supervised an international team for the award winning
European theatrical release documentary “Turtle the incredible journey”
Greg’s work was required to remain secret and in documentary festival screenings
around the world, even trained zoologists did not realise they were watching
CGi marine reptiles and
sharks. Wildthings produced hundreds of shots. Watch a small vfx sample here Greg performed final modelling and texturing of all characters and camera
tracked and animated all major
shots and supervised anim on all others. This led to other marine documentaries including the Award Winning “The Turtle” film for the Dubai Govt and “The Lost Years” for Gullivermedia..
Family Tree: Dubai World Expo 2015 FILM
Greg and Alister recently supervised VFX FOR THE UAE DUBAI official govt film
for WorldExpo 2015 in Milan Italy for BigPicture productions
They created digital Sandstorms, Erupting Skyscrapers and Photoreal Arabian
wolves.
Heavenly Project
Greg worked on wing and flight animation concepts for an ambitious and exciting
but abandoned feature film project.
